Metal Gear Zipper


It is the most common type of zipper and was the first material used when the zipper was invented in the early 20th century. When choosing a zipper with metal teeth, the material used in the construction of the metal zipper and the lining of the teeth should be considered, as rusting of the teeth will cause the zipper to deteriorate.

CLASSIFICATIONS BASED ON THE PRODUCTION PROCESS ARE:

PLASTIC TEETH CAN ALSO BE SEPARATED IN FIVE TYPES:

  1. Special Threaded Zipper

There are special types of teeth that cannot be grouped as standard metal or plastic teeth due to their unique properties and functions. Commonly available special elements/threads are as follows:

  • Invisible teeth: Technically, zippers with a CFC teeth are configured to be virtually invisible from the outside, showing only the bands that join the garment itself. It is often found in skirts and dresses. ( Hidden Zipper )
  • Bidirectional Threads: These threads can be opened from both sides, usually produced in larger size CFC, molded plastic or metal. It is often found in outerwear and suitcases.
  • Open-Ended Teeth: The threads can be completely separated when the slider is fully opened. It is often found in jackets, sweaters and other outerwear. A box and pin insert replaces the bottom stop, allowing separation.
  • Coil Teeth: Made of continuously wound monofilament. These teeth, which are usually made of extruded nylon strip, are also commonly called nylon teeth. This material provides greater flexibility and is also available in a wide variety of sizes. Often found in tents and canvas bags.
